Forensic Services & Initiatives 

The Alberta Mental Health Board’s (AMHB) Forensic Services & Initiatives encompasses three distinct mental health and justice programs, each of which works in conjunction with regional health authorities and government ministries to provide mental health services to individuals who are, or have been, in conflict with the law. The three distinct programs are:

• Provincial Forensic Psychiatry Program
• Provincial Diversion Program
• Provincial Family Violence Treatment Program 

AMHB’s Forensic Services & Initiatives programs work closely with regional health authorities and the following ministeries and other agencies: 

• Alberta Health and Wellness
• Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security
• Alberta Justice and Attorney General
• Alberta Children and Youth Services
• Alberta Aboriginal Relations
• Alberta Employment and Immigration
• Alberta Seniors and Community Supports
• Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC)
• Southern Alberta Forensic Psychiatry Services
• Northern Alberta Forensic Psychiatry Services
